Skills / Experience Requirements:
Graduate of a recognized Engineering College or Applied Science Institute with considerable process plant experience. Mechanical, chemical, or industrial degree preferred, with strong mechanical aptitude and hands on approach
Demonstrated leadership & management skills within a team environment
Strong execution and ownership skills
Preferable 3 to 5 years operations experience
Excellent verbal, written and listening communication skills
Ability to interact with all levels of staff and management
Strong knowledge of MS Office including Word, Excel and Power Point
Ability to work extended hours, weekends and holidays as required
Unrestricted cross boarder mobility
Ability to climb equipment and scaffolding, work at heights, enter confined spaces, crawl through and around refinery equipment
Ability to lift and/or move up to 30 lbs. on a regular basis
Working in this environment requires the mandatory use of safety equipment to include but not limited to: eye safety glasses, hearing protectors, work boots and hardhats
Not restricted from working in extraction facilities where hexane and other chemicals are used
A combination of process, project, safety, quality, and maintenance tasks that contributes to company profitability and employee growth and leads to increased responsibilities in any location within Bunge. To support plant operations and maintenance departments with technical, problem solving, and analytical skills in process troubleshooting, optimization, capability studies and improvement, project design and implementation in quality assurance, safety, repairs and maintenance, and cost reduction. Manage and maintain the physical assets of the Harrowby plant in good working condition to allow efficient operations, compliance with regulatory and corporate policies, and promote workplace quality. Act as a resource and backup to the operations and maintenance managers while learning about all aspects of our industry and company, in preparation for challenging assignments at any location.
Work with department managers, supervisors, tradesmen, operators and other support personnel.
Work with peers at other Bunge sites and STL and Oakville technical staff.
Interact with service providers such as utilities, vendors, contractors, and consultants.
Collaborate with ARROP staff and support plant reliability programs.
The span of work performed will cover process, projects, safety and quality, and maintenance including:
Process optimization studies in all areas of the plant including elevator, crush, extraction, refinery, and utilities. This will include process capability, statistical process control, mass and energy balances, developing and updating P&ID diagrams, PLC ladder logic, and HAZOP studies.
Improvements to plant equipment by monitoring daily trends, identifying deviations, consulting stakeholders, contacting vendors, implementing changes by researching alternatives, reporting and recommending, specifications and testing, and following through by documenting outcomes.
Support continuous improvement activities and initiatives, kaizen events, sustainment efforts, and reporting and sharing results.
Represent Harrowby in corporate initiatives and programs like PSM, Farmer Focus, Arc Flash, kaizens, response to outside requests, information, surveys, new policies or procedures.
Support the operations and maintenance managers as backup for vacations, training, meetings on site and offsite.
Manage any contractors on site doing a project or construction for existing facilities and equipment. Supervise the contractor and contractor employees working on projects.
Prepare, budget, and help manage the maintenance shutdown including recruiting skilled manpower, interviewing, booking contractors, sourcing parts and rentals, obtaining permits, contacting government or third party inspectors.
Provide off hours supervision and support including "on call" availability, attending to major breakdowns that require investigating, root cause analysis, supervision to manage employees or contractors, to expedite parts or service people, to help with design, drawing, performance, operating conditions to make the repair and start the plant.
