Job Title: Lifestyle Coach

Requirements: To succeed in this role you will have at least one year of relevant experience in a behavioral health or clinical/research setting along with strong mobile technology and social media skills. A BA in psychology, public health or related field strongly preferred. In some cases, experience may substitute for academic training.

All applicants must be at least 21 years of age and have a current, valid, US drivers’ license for at least one year. You also must be able to successfully pass a CORI, driving record check and reference check. Additionally, this position requires a fully insured vehicle that you will use in the course of your daily work. You must be willing to transport clients in your vehicle. All applicants must be able to become CPR and First Aid certified within two weeks of employment.

Vinfen supports thousands of adolescents and adults with psychiatric, developmental and behavioral disabilities at more than 200 sites with 2,700 employees in eastern Massachusetts and Connecticut.

Vinfen is participating in a federally funded study, Fit Forward. Utilizing mobile technology and social media, Fit Forward targets clinically significant weight loss and improved cardio respiratory fitness in young adults ages 18-35 with serious mental illness who are also overweight or obese. .

We are seeking a Lifestyle Coach to lead weekly group-based behavioral weight management and physical activity sessions and to moderate an online group to promote peer-to-peer health lifestyle behaviors. The Lifestyle Coach also provides weekly text message prompts (3-5 per week) to reinforce adherence to the behavioral intervention and provide reminders and encouragement for self-monitoring behaviors and participating in health activities.
